yes. started with Nikon Film SLR's in college and when I got my first digital I purchased a D80 for lens interchangeability. it was a solid camera for the price range, and I ultimately switched to Canon because that's what the studio I work for shoots, but now that I've done my homework I realize this was also a fluke... turns out that the lenses I want are much more affordable, and the build quality of the Canon 40D/50D trounced the Noink D80/D90 (the cameras in my price range when I switched). I also found that I liked the ergonomics a lot better. now that I've had the giant control wheel, I can never go back. :p

I've never owned one. But I've used plenty. D700, D70s, D300.

I would never trade my 5D for the D700.(even though i could sell the D700 and get a 5d mrk2)

I got a deal on a Nikon D70 used from the LPS ($275). I used it for a weekend with an old Nikon kit zoom lens from a film camera I have.

All the pics came out too dark in all the modes I tried. I asked on another forum what was up, and it turns out that you have to go in there and set some sort of exposure profile, blah, blah, blah....

Plus, there was some bad dust on the sensor (my Olympus bodies have dust reduction).

My Canon 20D and Olympus dSLR's worked great out-of-the-box.

Not to mention on the Nikons you can't adapt old lenses to it.

I returned it... no, thanks...

I started with Nikon F3's back in college then to the F4's, then to D100, D2H, D2x, 3 or 4 years ago I got to shoot with a MKIIn and the high ISO were so much better then my D2h and D2x. So I talked to my accountant and my other half about my plans of switching and the cost of doing so and the plan was to do this before selling the other gear. The plan was put together, I ordered the gear I wanted and the switch was made, after selling my Nikon gear except the D100 and a couple of lenses, I was in the hole about 4k which was paid off in the 1st year and my CPA was able to have some good deductions. Now I am keeping my fingers crossed that the MKIV will be just as good as the D3's so I don't have to make another decision like 4 years ago.

The newsroom owns Nikon D70s, and I've shot with them a few times. Can't hold a match to my 20D though. Buffer was small and would often fill up too quickly while shooting sports. Other issues were not necessarily the camera's fault. For instance, the LCD screen sucked and gave a blue tint. Also, some shots were out of focus, but might be because the camera was on the bottom focus point for half of the game.

I've still got 4 Nikon film bodies,,the oldest being a 1969 vintage Nikon F which I bought in 1975, plus a swag of Nikkors.. I still maintain that Nikons are the best film cameras to come out of Japan.. My Nikon F2AS Photomic/MD-2 is my favourite but it's no longer with me but my FE2/MD-12 is one of my all time favourites,,made me a lot of money..

I used a friend's D200 a few months back but only briefly.. I liked the layout of the controls and the image quality was great..

Nope. Aside from one Olympus film SLR, I've only owned Canon gear.

Nope. When it was time for me to make the plunge into this game, my choices came down to either the 40D or the D200. It wasn't that hard of a choice...

the f body was one heck of a camera and i did own a few. I was probably the tenth owner on a couple of them, never a problem that I didn't cause. I sometimes think of rebuilding the kit I dreamed of, the bodies and lenses are so cheap compared and I make so much more an hour compared, but canon digital has brought me back into this party and I'm gonna dance with the one that brung me.
