Simple CSS Slideshow

Another CSS question: does anyone have a link or know the code for a simple CSS based slideshow? All I want is a 400 x 400px slideshow on my homepage to automatically go from picture to picture (note: NO FLASH). I search online without finding any sites with a combination of what it will actually look like and the code for it and on POTN. Thanks for the help.

You'll need more than just CSS. What you're looking for is a javascript rotator, or fader.

Probably the best, full featured ones are using either moo tools or jquery as the library.

Thanks for the link. I haven't seen that site yet.

No problem. I've never been to that site either...

I just googled jquery slideshow and that came up. It's got most of the bigger/better versions on it, which is why I linked it.

FWIW, I'm using MooTools slideshow on my site. I think I found it looking at another photographer's site, looked up the search code and modified it to suit my needs.

If you have a smugmug account it does so much of the customization for you, including slideshows. Oh...disregard...I mis-read your signature line..

Thanks guys for the help. Coding and whatnot is a PITA, but well worth it when I see what I'm creating.

a521 - I plan on getting Smugmug, but only really for selling photos. (I have many, many pictures that cannot be sold, but I want to show for editorial purposes, therefore I'll have the Smugmug as a "store" seperate from my "galleries".)

And I just excluded javascript to keep the post shorter.

I've been tossing around the same idea, one site for selling and another for showing and advertising, but it really made more sense for me to try to get it to fit into smugmug since they do so much of the work for you.

I'm in the process of tweeking my smugmug to get it the way I want it, the people there are awesome if you ever need help!

Thanks! It's a fun process that will hopefully look good on an MBA application in a few years. Not that I'm only doing it as such, but it's extra motivation for professionalism.
