Myself being far from an expert, I would say that the background distracts from the main subjects. The pictures on the walls (especially the one "sticking out of the head" of the guy in the middle), the curtain in the background and the brown/gray floor in the bottom left corner all draw the eye away from the people in the picture. Otherwise it's a nice shot, I would perhaps clone out the shadows on the wall from the flash.

Also not an expert, but I agree that there is too much going on in the background; also, the right side should get more light.

thanks guys...

the concept was to take the picture in the house so I wanted to take a picture where it was obvious that it was in the house.

as for the light source, I just used one light on cam diffused up from the left side. hence the uneven lighting... which was my intent but i guess it backfired :D

so on further editing, i will clone out the shadows, the brown floor replacing it with the rug, and the bright line sicking out in the head of the middle guy?

anything else?

thanks a bunch for the comments :D
