I downloaded the trial of LR, and it seems like I have to make my corrections to each individual photo and then process them at the end. To make matters worse, all of the corrections require subjective input on my end and I generally have no idea what the heck I'm doing.

Many people enjoy the develop process as much as taking the pictures in the first place.

I like a far more specifically oriented tool to convert RAW images only.. one that is lightweight, low overhead and fast.
LR is none of those.

I've not used DxO but I suspect it's more up my alley.

Don't try DxO if fast is one of your requirements. Actually, if you haven't got a top-whack PC don't try it unless 'glacial' is one of your speed requirements.

Go back to the trial, select a range of images in the Library module, go the the Quick Develop tool on the RHS and select one of the Saved Presets (I suggest you start with 'Default'). All the selected images will be processed automatically. If you don't like the default, press 'Reset' and try the others until you find one you like.

Thanks for the tip. I'll go back and give that a shot this weekend and see how the output compares to DxO.

In LR, there are automatic adjustments for white balance and exposure. Like was mentioned, there is a copy/paste function that allows you to quickly apply the same settings to multiple images.

Fair enough; but the inference could easily be made that it is "light" when it isn't.

O-kay, thanks for the heads up! :)
