I like the processing, but I would try to take him off center a little to add interest. Also, his face seems to be a little out of focus (could just be compression).

Great subject and nice expression. Would love to see this a little closer up with those wonderful expressive eyes and better focus on the eyes too next time.

I like that you got down to his level. +1 on keeping with the rule of thirds

No offense meant here, but your "watermark" absolutely screams "I suck at photoshop". If you're going to put a watermark on your pictures, it needs some serious reworking. It's very distracting. The picture itself is well framed, but looks pretty soft, and the bokeh is ugly (which is the nature of the 50mm 1.8 )

For the watermark, I believe the solution to remove the white box is to change your watermark layer to Multiply.

The easiest way to do a watermark is actually to create a new brush. That way you can change the size and color/opacity at will, and there will be no border. If you're using photoshop, you make your watermark on a transparent background (most colors would actually work, but just to make it easier on yourself...) and then click Edit>Define Brush Preset.

I wouldn't worry about the watermark just yet, learn how to take a great photo, then watermark it:D
