Last Weekend I was able to go to the OSU game against California. I captured some of my best shot of the season and I even happened to get photos of Jahvid Best's touchdown/injury that I know no one else has.

Beautiful. The more I look at sports photography the more I'm drawn to the non action shots. I love, love, love #1, the last one of the coach and especially the player with his team behind them on their knees.

And obviously the touchdown shots are awesome. I really like the 5th one out of that series.

Agreed, good action shots are a dime a dozen. The non action shots are far more compelling to me.

Pretty good action captures, but I'd like to see a bit of fill added to them just to bring out some color in the shadows.

Agreed, You captured some good action here, but dosn't seem you did any post processing to them.

I don't do any post processing because I am colorblind. If I were to change anything the colors get messed up.

Great set. They almost all seem to be at least a stop underexposed though and WB seems to be all over the place as well.

That is tough to be color blind and to have the job you do. Hopefully someone else is doing PP for you before publication. Maybe you don't have the color aspect of a photographers eye, but you deffinantly have the most important part of the photographers eye and that's seeing "the" shot. Nice catures all the way around!

They are underexposed but I know that the athletic department will make them look the way they want. As for the white balance... that was set and never changed throughout the game.

I saw you on TV! While watching the game I saw one photographer in the back corner all by himself nearly on the ground shooting up & thought, "he nailed it."

As far as being colorblind, I'm in the same boat with you. I've got it real bad, but if you have the money, consider investing in Adobe Bridge. It has been a Godsend for me. They have several WB presets built in & there is usually always an answer for a photo without having to play with the sliders. Thats where I get into trouble.

you should never be doing your color enhancement by eye anyway. You're monitor lies to you when you see the photos on screen anyways. look up how to find the right white balance and you won't even need your eyes to make sure that you got it all right!

These pictures are insane btw... Such a good game I remember watching the replay of him falling like that.

+1 to Derek's comments. The action is great and you have a good eye (#1, and #3). With some post work, there could be stellar. Definitely bump exposure, add some pop to the color/contrast, straighten a few and sharpen. The second to last is nicely exposed. Use that as your guide.
