G3: Error E16

Hi!

I am getting from time to time error E16, when trying to take pictures. It happens almost always, when I use the "P"-mode. In "Auto"-mode most of the time the camera works fine.

Any ideas, what can cause this?

I don't know what it's for, but from experience with a Kodak camera it means it's something to call Canon about. Something isn't working when it's supposed to, and it won't go away.

Thank you, twl845. Yes, calling Canon is of course the best way to solve this problem. But reading about the prices they take for repairing even simple things I decided to try to fix it myself.
So I would like to check first, if it is a loose connector, some dirt in the mechanic or a poorly soldered SMD part.
Therefore it would be very helpful to know the meaning of the error codes so I know what I am looking for.
I did contact Canon about this. But they advice me to send in the camera for repair. - But I think they will always do this, no matter what problem you have.

It would be great if anyone could publish the complete list of error codes!
