Thanks, I was afraid that was the answer:>(

I just can't afford it. I am starting to think upgrading for just ISO might not be worth it, since it seems everything else is not a big jump(worth the $$) from my Xsi. I bought this Xsi from my neighbor, had 500 shots on it, I now have 5k, it has plenty of life left...

Hi here are a few I took in NYC yesterday (to many tourists me included). I took the kids to the Top of the Rock and here are a few pics.

I know how you feel I had the same dilemma. I went ahead and got the 50D. I love this camera. Would I like a 7D NO! I don't care for video's. I would however love to have a Mark anything LOL but I think for now I am more interested in glass. What I have decided is that any glass I buy I will get only the ones that can go on a full frame that way if I get rich enough I will not have a ton of lens that will be of no use.
BTW the 50D was purchased on sale for less than what my XSI cost. I have used it for indoor swimming pictures of my twin grandsons and once I received much help from POTN members to achieve better shots the photo's turned out great.
Perhaps a route for you would be to rent a few different camera's and that way you could try them out first.

I love it..the extra weight seems to balance it better in my hands and the frames per sec are awesome. More ISO to. The viewfinder is much improved to look at when you are outside. The controls are better located and I find navigating around much more user friendly.
Image Quality is way better to...I have the 24-105L and took some images of a few different items with both cameras and I have to say WOW I am impressed. Glad I made the switch. I still like my XSI and it is now in my bag as my back up.
I would love to have purchased a mark11 or better but money is not growing on the trees in my yard and I still have much to learn so the 50D suits me just fine. I am saving for the 70-200 latest model f2.8. The way I see it at this point is that glass is my main goal so I am just making sure what ever glass I get can be paired up with a full frame camera should I get one down the road.
If you were to get one now would be the time because they are taking them out of the stores to make room for all the newer cameras...I got a great deal on mine. I don't think you would be disappointed. Then again if you can afford a Mark anything lol I'd go that way. If cash is a factor you can't go wrong with the 50D!

I bought an XSi as a second body, and as a lighter day-to-day camera than my 1d which is just to heavy to lug around everywhere. A bud of mine...
