I have heard the life was @ 50K but there are folks around who are 76K and going strong... Conversely, there are folks who at 36K who had to replace their shutters.

That is just my opinion on it. Camera: Canon EOS 450D griped, 18-55mm, 55-250mm, 50mm f1.8, Canon Skylight & hoods fitted, Canon 430 ExII, SanDisk Extreme III 4GB, Sony GPS-CS1

The 50d has far superior AF performance, so for basketball that is a big deal. it also does 6 fps instead of the 3fps the t2i does, which will give you a slight advantage if you find yourself bursting. canon 1dmk2* Canon XSi * Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 EX DG * Canon 17-40mm f/4L * Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX * Canon 50mm f/1.8 *

I don't shoot video, so was leaning towards 50D for FPS, but some things I have read the T2i has better IQ? Looks like I could buy either a new T2i or a used 50d for same price, which then makes me think T2i.....nuts Any thoughts? the XSi/450D actually does higher levels than ISO 1600, simply shoot in RAW and increase the exposure in post processing. That's what the other models do but within the camera

Nick3434 Goldmember More info | I just picked this up on EBAY lightly used for a great deal. It came with the 18-55 IS and 55-250 IS. I have had a blast as a newbie into photography. Here are some from last weekend, I am not shooting in RAW yet and I really know very little about PP so these probably reflect that, but I have tried to learn my camear inside and out to get good pics from the camera without touchup. I think the coolest thing about having my first SLR is being able to shoot at night. Straight from the camera in monochrome/green setting, no PP I think this camera is perfect for me to learn with and aquire glass for a better body later. Everything is relative.
