Hi everyone! I just returned from an assignment in which a part of my 430EX II completely VANISHED without me touching it or hitting something with the Speedlite. What I lost is circled in red:

IMAGE: http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm263/NicolasRubio/Flash.jpg

Is there a webpage where I can buy this spare part?

PS: this sucks! On my last assignment I lost the eyecup... U$D 15 almost! I am keeping it in the box until I sell the camera, it is expensive and useless!

don't worry about it. It's just a screw mount with no electronics that need protecting. Tape over it if you really want.

What's the point of that screw mount? I will tape it, of course... as well as I won't use my eyecup anymore! I just want to buy it because I may sell the flash for either a 580EX II or a Nikon SB-800/900 (probably switching!).

Canon's flash bracket uses a weird design needing a screw mount on the side.

I've lost pretty much all the covers and accessories that came with all of my flashes. I like the 580 II because things don't come off, they stay attached.

That's the difference between a professionals equipment and an amateurs... amateurs looks perfect, professionals works perfectly but often looks a bit run down.

You'll be able to buy the parts from ebay or Canon, the trick will be working out their name. You'll need a spec sheet for the flash to work it out.

I know... I need to get that sheet!

But that's the flash stand!

The canon phone people know the parts well, just tell them you need that little cover. If you can describe the location they can give you the name.

Then do a google search for canon argentina/south america. I'm betting you have a computer.

Canon Argentina would take approximately 60 days for such part and would charge me between three and four times than eBay/Canon USA.

Call Canon Argentina to work out the part number, then buy it on ebay.
