I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit on my notebook. Apparently, the Vista driver is not compatible?

I only want to connect for tethered shooting.

Am I S.O.L?

The newest EOS Utility should still support the 20d.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I installed the EOS Utility, the EOS viewer Utility, and EOS Capture under Win 7 64 bit. They all installed fine. But, when I actually connect the camera via the USB cable, it is only recognized as a storage device (after I changed communication to PTP). In order to tether, the WIA driver is necessary. This is what I can't get work.

Canon will not support the 20D in 64bit - for this reason i kept XP on my laptop rather than upgrading

If you have W7 professional, you can try to use virtual xp mode, and that should let you get around some issues. Not sure if driver support is included on that, xp mode is still fairly untested waters.

I've got Win7 Pro, 64 bit, on my desktop, with XPmode working, but that won't help with my notebook, which is running Win7 64bit Home Premium.

Unfortunately, I gave my wife my old XP notebook. Taking it back at this point probably would go over to well.
