I'm almost finished with my fire recruit academy at TEEX in College Station, Texas (a little over an hour outside of houston). It is comonly reffered to as one of the best firefighting training facilities in the world. We had our family night on Monday Nov. 9th and I couldnt help but take plenty of pics and video to show off while I wasn't "putting the wet stuff on the red stuff". The pictures you see below are on the refiniery props. We also did a rotation on the airplane prop but I primarily shot video on that one so I dont have any good photos to post.

Everyone enjoyed the evening and not to brag, but according to the instructors we did a great job, and the man running the fuel tower said that was one of the best jobs he had seen from a recruit class, so we we're pretty proud of ourselves. Most importantly though everyone was safe and our families got to see how crazy we really are for wanting to do this for a living!

Feel free to leave your comments, questions and critiques.

The first shots capture great drama the last shot looks more like a capture of an exercise rather then the real thing the first ones do not have that feel if you know what I mean. Great captures.

Hey man, I saw these on TPF. Cool stuff. I wonder how hot it was in there? Hot enough to melt a camera?

I think the last shot looks like an exercise because they're just standing there, straight legged- and this is what makes me giggle- the front guy is just looking around nonchalant like.

I think the last shot could use a contrast boost for a little more 'pop'.

Congrats on almost finishing the fire academy. FF for 15 years and still love it. Great shots, wish we had a training facility like that available.
