All of these were taken with a 7D with either the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 is or the Sigma 120-300, with and without a Tamron "F" 1.4x TC (TC used for daytime only). The lighting was terrible for the night games - needed iso 2000-2500 to maintain even 640 shutter speed. Cleaned up with noiseware (haven't mastered this yet).
Thanks for looking...

I like the use of different angles and perspective very much. Images look very clean. A few of the crops don't work well for me (#2 and 3 for sure). The dead center on #5 with no ball to boot kills that one for me and I'd love to see a ball in #6 to give it some impact. Not suggesting you PS one in, just saying it would have helped. The whites a bit hot in a few too but that can be adjusted in post if you wanted. All in all, this is a good series, hope the crit helps.

Scott,
I am a huge fan of your work and am flattered by your comments. Your crits are immensely helpful as well. I wasn't happy with the crop on #3 either. I was faced with choosing between a crooked horizon or chopping off the foot and the mit. I chose the latter, but probably should have trashed it. Next year I'll bring a monopod for sure so my crooked horizons don't ruin my crops!

Edit: Better Crop for #5?

Awesome!

I just bought but won't get until this Friday (en route) my 7D and 70-200 f/2.8 IS plus the 1.4 EF II from B&H just for baseball.

Great Shots by the way.

Did you have field access?

How do you like Noiseware?

Settings on Camera?

Daryl Jones is a local boy for me by the way, he's from the Houston area. Spoke to his Mom a few times awhile back concerning a hammy that was bothering him. I'm glad to see that he's doing well. My son told me that Baseball America did a feature on him several months ago.

Thanks for sharing I hope you have a chance to answer my questions.

Budding Baseball Photographer,

Andy

Thanks for that as well and yes, this crop is much better. I usuallywill leave a horizon unadjusted if it means amputations (assuming its not crazy off). Again, these are very nice and my crit is simply how I see things, others might think Im completely nuts!
