As i normally do i get the photos from the can program then open them up in zoom browse EX. The photo simply just doesnt show up in photoshop and when i try to open it from the USB it says windows cannot open this file as it does not know the program that created it.

I need the photos. They are for a friends eighteenth so any help would be good good!

l +Jarrod+ l,
It is because they are raw files....
Photoshop (what version do you use?) I believe you need ACR to load a raw file, or you can use the software that came with your camera (DPP) to convert the raw file to a jpg or tiff and then open the file in Photoshop :)

You can convert raw to jpg with digital photo professional which I assume was supplied with the camera (500D has) then use most any image editor.
