Nice. My 430 EX II has some flexibility in terms of moving the head around but certainly nothing like the Sony in the vid link you posted!

Looks like it's just a different take on swiveling. Can't see any advantage it gives you that a regular bounce/swivel head doesn't.

I think that design is what all flashes should have.

Pretty interesting...

I think the lens hood design is one of the reasons. E.g. the 24-70 lens hood..

The design is much smarter then both Canon and Nikon (imo) and works very well, for those who use alot of on camera flash that is. But beauty isnt everything, especially when it lacks a brain...

The practical diffrence is real if you bounce with flash on camera. Instead of twisting and turning you just push the flash sideways.

It is a small detail, but I also appreciate how the camera's menu also rotates depending on the camera orientation. Not that I would be willing to switch for that, but attention to details like that are likely to be bigger selling points as the easy gains in optics and sensor technology have already been (or soon will be) achieved.

it doesn't look like a gamechanger, but definitely something i'd appreciate if it were incorporated into canon's flash designs.

I think this statement pretty much sums it up. The over all size of that thing might keep people away from it. The idea of having 2-3 of those in your bag along with everything ele... hmmm I think I'll keep my canon and sunpak (those are big enough)

kinda what my flash bracket does.

I guarantee Nikon and Canon will follow suit. At least Nikon, with it's much vaunted CLS flash system that a lot of people feel is better than Canon's, finally swivels 360 in both directions.
