I know that Paul C. Buff does not certify compatability with anything other than PCB lighting products, but I am interested in knowing whether anybody has had success with the Vagabond II to power a pair of RX 600s. The Vagabond II is priced right, but I don't want to purchase if it would cause problems with RX 600s. I am hoping that since the RXs are not multi-voltage, that some of the incompatability I have read about with Elinchroms may not apply. Searches on this topic have yielded quite a bit of speculative responses, but I want to hear from first-hand users. Are there any real-life users out there that can tell me how their experience has been??

Did you search THIS forum? If you had, you'd have found plenty of first hand accounts regarding the use of the Elinchrom 600RX with both the PCB Vagabond and the Innovatronix XT. This post even came with an excellent demonstration video:

The short answer is, yes, it works and works very well indeed.

Thanks Dave. Good info.

I did come across the beginning of that thread, but it is so long, and parts of it turned into an old-fashioned pissing match, that I gave up. I appreciate your pointer to the videos that do a nice job in demonstrating how well the unit works with the RX digital strobes.

So does that mean that it will also work with BXRi and Dlites as well? I would assume that they all basically have the same power supplies....

No the BXRi are multivoltage and this causes problems but there is a new version of the tronix xt that works.

They will work with BXRi and DLite BUT is not recommended. In short, 600RX, no risks, the former two - ya takes your chances with every 'pop'.
