I just revived this Dell from a voltage spike that I was afraid had killed it dead. The support was great, even a year off warranty I got all the support I needed from dell. All is fine now, boy am I glad this thing is only used for internet access and short term backup in the field. I have zoombrowser installed and thats all the photo management I do on here. The CS4 and all the final images are on the big box at home, and on a portable harddrive and DVD's.
I would feel very vulnerable with all my work stored on a portable laptop, no matter how good.

Ask and ye shall receive...

HP Pavilion 17” Dual Core Entertainment Notebook w/ Blu-ray (external link)

I use a DV7 and it's perfect. Added a second hard drive, upped the RAM to 8 Gig, and it is great. I paid $600 for mine, and it's been perfect .

I don't drop my laptops, so I wouldn't know if they can handle it. I also don't spill drinks on them, so I wouldn't know about that either. My 7 year old doesn't drop them or spill on them, so she probably couldn't help in that regard either. But, speaking for those of us who choose to take care of our equipment, I can say the HP is a great laptop, and cheap.

Yes Eugene, that was a jab at you.
