Hi,
Some highlights of my weekend photoshoot. I spent 7 hours photographing many of the local riders . Such a great group of guys thanks for making passes for the camera. The trails are kept up well and fast, I would suggest anyone in the area looking for some technical fun check it out. Enough of my rambling time for photos! Because of file size here is one sample. To view the entire session check out my gallery .

Thanks for looking let me know what you think!.

I hope to make it there soon on a day with blue sky, the shots will be much better. I also plan to try some slaved flashes and birds eye view shots from a tree. plus I know if I see this jumping enough I'll end up getting a new bike...

enjoy
Mike

It might be just the compression on the website but the images dont look super sharp to me; the other complaint is the rider doesnt pop out of the picture at all.
Some pictures the WB is totally different than others, the pictures that are like the one posted above dont have enough contrast in my opinion because the trees and leaves all kinda blend together
(This picture looks closer to the proper WB Duffield [DH JPEG0045])
Also on this picture look at the riders face ; there is definatly a white balance error because I didnt think lobsters could ride bikes.
Definatly bring a few flash's and be careful climbing trees!
keep shooting

hope that wasnt too harsh for ya

I agree w/ RideUntilDeath - the background swallows up the subject. The picture still is pretty cool - so as they said in the 70's - "Keep on truckin'"

You'll get there.

thanks. there was 2 factors here, Me experimenting withRAW files, which i dont normally do, and during the processing I clicked the wrong button and that added a automatic wb on all photos. otherwise the overcast sky blew the shots from the get go.. i dont know if a polarized would have helped?? as for the backround blending together,, it almost does right now with no leaves and the ice storm debries from last winter. I plan to shoot more here so I have more time to play with settings and hope for better sky.

thats right,.. I got you confused with the S rep, He stops in from time to time to hand out new druel book.. we stick withthe 4 letter brands Fuji, Haro, Trek. I cant wait to get back up to Duffield it was fun, and challenging as my reviews are showing...
