I wish the 1:1 shots were better. It looks very sharp though.

I have some shots of a salesman I took with my 7D @ B&H which REALLY startled me... the lens is amazing. As a portrait lens I dare say its probably even better than it is as a Macro. f/2 for Macro would be very difficult to use on a regular basis without it looking kind of overused. But in the right hands and under the right conditions it could create something special. But as a portrait lens... WOW... it just REALLY shines.

I would hope that this lens is the kick-in-the-pants that Canon would need to update either the 60/2.8 Macro or the 50/2.5 Compact Macro. But likely neither will happen... but here's to wishful thinking.

How is the bokeh with the 60mm Tammy macro? My 90mm f/2.8 Tammy has some of the most beautiful bokeh produced by any lens. If the 60mm f/2 Tammy produces nice bokeh, it would be a great portrait lens with a 96mm equivalent!

Id like to see a comparison of the Tamron 60/2 vs Sigma 50/1.4. AF performance (though as a MF guy I will not weigh that too heavily,) IQ, and, of course, bokeh. Macro is not really my pursuit.
