You can alphabetize your gear, dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't need a 5D2, you need therapy!
;)

But seriously, seeing as how you've already got two 7Ds, I'd say wait until the 5DMk3 comes out or you'll think the 5D2's batteries are going flat (thus the sad choice of fps).
:lol::lol::lol:

Monster High ISO Performance
Monster Dynamic Range

That's already good enough. lol

The DR is the same as other 14 bit bodies, and maybe 1 stop better ISO than a couple of other offerings, until the new ISO king arrives... :)

On the flipside, you would get:

- slower AF than other offerings
- fewer fps than other offerings
- you will be cropping more during post processing to simulate the reach of an APS-H or APS-C with fewer pixels on target when you are done
- you will have spent more for these things

Just to play devil's advocate! :D

I would love one too, I think a 7D/5DII combo would be stellar!

If you are not blown away by the image quality (especially high ISO capability) with it's incredible detail, and you can afford the camera, then I dunno what to say???

Buy a 5DMKII and do your part! As soon as all the MKII's are sold we can all start drooling over the MKIII. Your 5DMKII will make it one camera closer! :)

I had the 10D after having an EOS 3 film camera. I was wondering why my images were not so wonderful. I had a lot of grain and the 1.6x crop factor limited my limited glass. I bought a 20D. That helped. I missed my EOS 3 quality still. Then I decided to get the ff 5D Classic after it was already out for about a year or more. I had a few L lenses by then. What a dramatic difference! My 5D images were as close to the film images, and the lenses were new again, much better. My 24-70 was wide, and my 17-40 was even too wide at times. :) I was very happy and I have both the 5D2 and the 40D, so think it's the best of both worlds to have both.

Maybe not the best way to demonstrate dynamic range, looking at the histogram both the whites and the blacks are clipped in your picture. ;)

The dynamic range may be good, but it looks as though you've got blown out snow there!:)

That's taken first snow storm in autumn :) If older bodies it would be really bad.
BTW, you may want to calibrate your monitor :)

Uhh, no, it's not the monitor - your whites and blacks are both clipped. Here's your snow scene histogram:

IMAGE: http://www.aobild.se/imagesforforums/snowscenehistogram.jpg

Anyway, I don't think any DSLR can truly handle the dynamic range in those scenes, you either have to sacrifice one end of the spectrum or use HDR technique to compress the range.

That's not to say the 5D II isn't a great camera, or that it hasn't one of the newest and best sensors in terms of dynamic range, but it's still not capable of magic. :)
