Yea, the Spider holster is expensive, but it looks pretty good. However, I'd never wear the "belt" that they provide, I'd much rather just hang it on my own belt.. but I'm not sure of how well that would hold up! I may just hold out for version 2..

The Pacsafe strap looks decent, but the metal clasp is a no-no for me.

If you use Arca-Swiss style plates then this strap from Kirk (external link) is a good, though expensive, solution.

I've been through every option in this thread short of the pacsafe (and I use a cotton carrier over the spider).

Here are my solutions:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ctor_Uni_Adapter_Loop.htm (external link)
op-tech short loops (just that last clip w/o any strap is left on the body)

small strong line on your camera lugs with either your normal strap, an R-strap, or clips on your op-tech pro loops. you can see the small loops on my 5Dii's lugs here:

Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE

you can just use your normal pro loop attachments with them if you want (I did) but if that's too slow you can get carabiners or other clips/snaps. My issue with that is it's metal in your bag near your LCD... My issue with the R-strap is their lame connector at the bottom of the camera.

The CC is better as it's much shorter, but I've gone one step further and tapped mine onto my RRS L-bracket:
IMAGE: http://gear.benjacobsenphoto.com/wp-content/gallery/nikon-family/img_4364.jpg

I use the belt portion of the cotton carrier 99% of the time. The chest portion (I bought mine when we HAD to get both, you can now buy just the belt if you want) is useful on the boat, but draws too much attention for me in public.

That looks like it would work very nicely. I was also looking at these:

And then maybe a strap with some quick release hooks that could just snap into those loops. That seems like it would be very lightweight and out of the way when no strap is in use.

Just bought a Domke Gripper with quick release attachments. It's more compact than the UpStrap I'm using.

I use the POTN (Optech) strap and the Optech "System Connectors". The number 1 "Swivel Hook" and number 11 "Adapt-Its" work for me.

Thanks for the prduct shots, Mike. I think I will get the swivel hook straps like you have, but go with the utility loops, (pictured in my last post), instead of the adapt-its.

I have had the rubber "Adapt-its" now for about 18 months and they are holding up well. Just as good as when they were new. They are very strong. They are flexible, but a little hard to install because the are so tough.

I got this one http://www.procameragear.com …/cPath/30/products_id/141 (external link) and then ordered another set of pro loop straps "just in case" and was glad I did. I took the second set down to the local shoe repair shop and had him cut the strap and shorten it. After he stitched it back up it looks identical to the other strap, but shorter. I can snap the ends together and they make a short carry strap or snap them on the pro strap when I need a real carry strap. I like it.

Quick release camera strap with Safety hook?

Seem no one selling strap with Safety hook any more.

If anyone DIY out there?

I'm thinking to get something like that:

I tried a couple of straps/vendors/combos before I settled on the same system connectors Jacobsen1 "discovered" the same way!
