I was lying on my belly trying to make an interesting photo of this sand dollar. I watched a small bird, obviously curious, since he circled me several times and walked up to within 6 feet of me. Then he crossed in front of the lens and added an extra dimension to the photo.
A bit noisy since it's my "beach camera", a Canon A540, but I'm happy with the result. I only wish I had carried an slr yesterday which would have allowed for multiple shots and a better composition.

Great use of depth of field. The texture and flow of the sand is incredible. Great shots

Both great shots, but I like #2 better.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Composition and DOF are brilliant in the first shot. It looks like it could easily be used for a 'destination-type' advertisement. Nice!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It's always satisfying to get a good photo out of a pocket camera.

Excellent for a pocket camera.
