These two guys are the stars of their respective teams. At the end of a very hard fought, muddy playoff game, I captured this.

So, let's see some of your sportsmanship photos.

I guess I'll stop putting the camera away after the game handshakes and watch for that more often.

Aside from the sportsmanship which is great. 11 seems to distract me but I'm not sure how to crop this without messing it up.

Here in Australia our national rugbly league trophy now features a sculpting of a famous sportsmanship moment. It was a moment at the end of the 1963 grand final played in a mud bath and captured by John O'Grady called "The Gladiators" I have put below the original photo and an early version of the trophy ( it is now a little different but still features this as the centrepiece).

So sometimes taking a photo of the end of the match can lead to much more than you think!!!!!

I would crop tighter, lose the lower part of the picture.

It does look like #11 is turned around taking a leak! I didn't notice that the first time but yeah.. if you crop at the waist of the players you can eliminate #11 that way.

Thanks for your comments guys. I thought having their feet in the picture would let you see how crappy the field was. However, after looking at #11 in the background, I do agree that he takes away from the image. Here is a cropped version of a different image.

Do you guys think this would be more powerful in B&W?

Would you see all the mud in b&w?

Butcha27, that is an incredible photo and a great story behind the trophy as well. Thank you for sharing that!
