It was a moment at the end of the 1963 grand final played in a mud bath and captured by John O'Grady called "The Gladiators" I have put below the original photo and an early version of the trophy ( it is now a little different but still features this as the centrepiece). I didn't notice that the first time but yeah.. if you crop at the waist of the players you can eliminate #11 that way. I thought having their feet in the picture would let you see how crappy the field was. However, after looking at #11 in the background, I do agree that he takes away from the image. Here is a cropped version of a different image. Do you guys think this would be more powerful in B&W?
