Can someone please help me answer a question re: EF 75-300mm zoom kit lens?

Hi everyone, i am selling the above lens which was one of the two kit lenses that i got when i bought my 400D. I have been asked the following quetions by a prospective buyer -
1. Can it be used with a 40D?
2. Does it have image stabilizer?

Please help! I have no idea! Thank you

Any EF lens can be used on a 40D, and also ef-s lenses. If it says IS in the title of the lens it has an image stabilizer, if not, no.

Is there a switch to turn IS on or off?

egordon99, i'm not sure if there's a switch or not because it's BNIB. There is nothing on the front of the box though that indicates that it does?

I don't want to take it out of the box...

Will work with a 40D, no IS though
