I thought that I could get a bit of control of the DOF by using Av mode with my 580EX, but when I set it, even to something fairly wide open, the shutterspeed seems to get very long. Am I confused? Might I have something set incorrectly?

It just goes in one ear and out the other. Tonight I stick a pencil in one ear and try it again. Maybe I'll retain enough to get a decent flash picture. Dave

Now I will go read the sticky, sigh. Dwight McCann

M modes to proper expose background. so either use P or set everything manualy in M. "Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still."
