Is the only way to remotely start the movie mode for the 7D to use the IR remote RC-1 or RC-5? It appears that the wired shutter release (RS-80N3) has no effect for the movie mode. Are there any work around settings?

apersson850 Obviously it's a good thing  More info | I haven't tried, but since it's possible to take a still image in the middle of shooting a video, I assume that's what the TC-80N3 remote will do? Anders

The "S" button will take a still during video. I assume the RC-5 will only start/stop video since it only has the 2 second delay button. Dec 12, 2010 12:58 | #7 Or tie into the different IR remotes so they can be triggered by radio sets (PW), which in turn send the IR signals to the 5D MKII or the 7D.
