Is the only way to remotely start the movie mode for the 7D to use the IR remote RC-1 or RC-5? It appears that the wired shutter release (RS-80N3) has no effect for the movie mode. Are there any work around settings?

apersson850 Obviously it's a good thing More info | I haven't tried, but since it's possible to take a still image in the middle of shooting a video, I assume that's what the TC-80N3 remote will do? Anders

msowsun "approx 8mm" More info | Dec 12, 2010 12:00 | #6 The RC-1 and RC-6 will start and stop video record on the 60D, 7D, and 5D Mk II using the "2S" button. The "S" button will take a still during video. I assume the RC-5 will only start/stop video since it only has the 2 second delay button.
