Hi Guys,

One of my friend of friend wants to sell his spyder 3 pro monitor calibrator to me ?
Is it a good idea to buy it? Does the calibrator degrade over a period of time or remains the same?

Sorry about this noob question but i haven't ever used a calibrator yet, so just wanted to make sure :)

Regards,

They don't degrade but make sure it's not faulty.

Ask him why he's selling it. Maybe he'll let you test it. Check the competitive prices online and make sure you're getting a better deal than buying new.

Well yea that i'll make sure about the price...
He says, that he doesn't use it, its just lying idle with him...
Any quick test to make sure the unit does perfectly what it supposed to do...better colors i know, but any specific tests?

No tests short of spending a fortune to send it off to a testing lab. Then if you learn that it's inaccurate, you're out thousands rather $100.

It's really hard to hurt one of these unless you use it for a pinata.
