So we ran outside to take a walk. First time in a couple of days that we got to get out and stretch our legs.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

[edit] we were trying to get some nice side lighting to light up his eyes, but the sun would tuck behind the clouds every time we would find it. This look is about all I was getting out of him today so we stopped trying to take pictures.

Well isn't he a little firecracker. That expression gives me a sense of his personality. Nice.

Thanks for commenting. He has lots of personality but unfortunately for me he doesn't like getting his picture taken.

Two more from today.

Waiting for the sun to come back. He lost patience before it did :)

Wow......... *sigh*
I absolutely love the last 2 images.. :) Well I love all of them.. his silly little face looks like he's eating an ice-cube.. I know that uncooperative face very well. I live with 2 of them myself..

Who cares if he doesn't like to pose... that jumping shot... Simply perfect.. totally captues his spirit.. in his moment... or at least it seems so... And his stance in the last one... total boy...

Considering your challenge with him not wanting to take pictures..... You did an amazing job on these... And this was simply a walk after a rainstorm... I wish we had such color and pretty leaves here.

I wish we got some color like that...

I think these are great, and natural...why try to force a face out of him when you can get faces like that anyway? His expression in the first is priceless, love it :)

The second one is pure joy! I just makes me smile! I LOVE< LOVE it.

What settings did you use? Did you use flash to stop the motion? The lighting is awesome - was it all mother nature?

You're too nice. I know for a fact that you hide leaves somewhere in Arizona. I saw the thread Hatch put up.

Thank you. I do like that these are candid and show his personality but I would like to have a few shots of him looking at me with a quiet little smile before he is all grown up. :)

Thank you. I shot it with my 85mm at f/2.2. I was crouched about 30 feet from him waiting for the sun to break through the clouds and he got tired of waiting and started bouncing around. Right after this shot he started bouncing to me, the light came back and we missed it :) Shutter speed was 1/320 chosen by the camera in AV mode.

I used my flash to light up his face a little bit.

I love all of these.....I especially love the jumping one...sooooo cute!!

I have a very unwilling grandson in front of the camera so these look like heaven comparatively;)
Sadly, the only time he wants his picture taken is when he is doing omething gross. Fortunately I have a baby around so I can shoot something fun!

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I love my 85mm. I would estimate that it's on my camera at least 65% of the time. My 35 and 50 share the bulk of the rest.

With Jackson I have accepted the fact that I just sit back and record his moment in time and don't try to shape it into anything different.

Great shots. Love the jumping one. The images make me really miss Nor Cal. I've been here in Texas for years now and photos of dirt get old after a while.:lol:
