I remember like a year or so ago some guy's tripod snapped or something and his rented 800mm lens (or something ridiculous like that) and 1DSmkII took a dip in the river!!!

Anyone remember that?

I'm trying to find pictures or find that thread.
Tried search and didn't find anything :( :o

Makes me want to cry.

I like the way he hugs the lens at the end of the video.

Can't you be banned for life for calling that lens a 'zoom'?

Well, quite a bit of people walk up to big whites and ask what the zoom on that "thing" is...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

For those who like that kind of punishment, btw - I'm currently tending a thread on FM that'll make you squirm:

nice...only thing i was thinking was that it'd be nice to put a tag on the 600L shot...just www.borrowlenses.com (external link) to give them a little love for in return of the entertainment we got from them.

yeah, any time i see a dropped camera/broken lens...i think i click the thread just in hope of pics...normally i don't really care...but going thru your thread was a little different...pretty sure i saw a broken 70-300mmIS in there, and the broken LCD on the back of a camera...those i could relate to, i had to go hug my lens, and my 40D:D

you should try and find kenjiS's shot of his 30D and lens packed with snow

edit: found it:https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=8528716&postcount=36

My camera survived this:

Aww, woulda had more impact if it didn't..

I fell FACE FIRST into a snow bank with my 30D landing lens/lenshood first below me and the body smacking into my ribcage...

Actually, nevermind :D

those i could relate to, i had to go hug my lens, and my 40D

Great! just the kind of reactions I was hoping to get. It's all fun and games till someone gets reminded of their own (potential) tragedy.
