From candy canes and polo mints to this in 3 posts. This place is amazing.

It is a very sad fact of life that we live in a violent society, be it state sponsored, criminal or psychopathic. It sometimes amazes me that we have lasted this long.

That^ Well put Neil.

I'm still trying to figure out what Crissa is lol'ing about... She needs to learn to quote.

She just does that, one second she is just standing there, next second she is lol'ing maniacally. It is kind of eery but if you just smile and nod like you understand she quiets it to a little chuckle.

Don't know about candy canes but have yet to meet a horse that does not love Polo Mints (external link)

Wow, haven't had a polo mint in years now :(

I heard about that but not about being caught.

Is the PD in trouble?

The real sad thing is that this guy was put away for life. He was let out and 4 people paid the price. The guy who let him go should be held accountable.

kumatron wrote in post #9114800 (external link)
I had a feeling that's how it was going to end. I hope the officer won't get into trouble though, according to reports the guy was carrying a gun and refused to drop it when he was told to...

Such an awful awful story. The whole thing is just devastating :(

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #9114821 (external link)
This kinda thing makes me go. GRRRRRRR......

From what I have read on the usual reports on the news, any time an officer uses their firearm they are put on administrative leave. Whether it was justified or not. I've never done it but I would imagine that killing another human being is a very traumatic experience. I know locally everyone is pretty happy at the fact the guy is dead and off the streets.

As was mentioned, the worst thing is he was sentenced to 108 years in prison, yet was released and proceeded to go back to jail, then get released again only to rape and kill. :(

My dog is playing with a cat toy and my cat likes her dog toys. I have such confused animals.

I'm pretty sure we can't be friends anymore. It hit 45 here today. :-|

That's one of the things I like about living in San Diego. I call it the "neener" factor...

Sid...my uncle died...63. Too young...

Woolburr wrote in post #9112660 (external link)
He had an aneurysm in his abdomen that ruptured. Essentially bled to death before they could get him to the hospital.

We're sorry to hear that, Dan. 63 is way too young.

At first I thought it was from you and wondered how you got my cell number, but then noticed the area code and figured it wasn't John.

I'm glad Heather explained this to me last night or I'd be completely baffled here...

Really? That surprises me. I saw lots of wild gators when I was in Florida. I remember them slithering across the highways in front of speeding cars.

Years ago a friend of mine made a circumnavigation of the US on his motorcycle. He went through the Everglades at night and then found he shouldn't have because the gators like to crawl out of the swamp and lay on the asphalt roads at night because they're warm...

hello everyone.

Craziness going on in these parts. This guy murdered 4 Lakewood police officers on Sunday morning. He knew police frequented a particular coffee shop. As he finished his order he pulled out a gun, turned and killed all four. No reason other than he wanted to kill police. :(

This morning Seattle PD shot and killed the guy. It feels like an empty "victory".

At the risk of sounding crass: YAY!

I doubt that'll happen...

The real sad thing is that this guy was put away for life. He was let out and 4 people paid the price. The guy who let him go should be held accountable.

The guy was serving a 95 year sentence in Arkansas when then Gov. Mike Huckabee pardoned him. Huckabee ran for President the last time around, but I think his political aspirations are now finished, because if he ever runs for office again this will be smeared all over the media.

Well I would be positive about it. I mean you still got another person to use in your portfolio and having a wider variety of clients in your portfolio will help you in the long run, but if you handle the situation poorly that will just hurt your reputation. It sucks, but there will always be good and bad when getting a new business going... *shrug* :)
