Hola Deb...sorry I missed ya, was watching TV. Night Deb.

Wow, didn't know that. Sure there are grounded originals right used strictly from statics?

Some. No Fokker Triplanes, for instance, though - there were only 300+ built and the last 2 were destroyed during WW II. Cole Palen left 2 of his originals to the Smithsonian and the USAF Museum. Trouble is, without re-covering and replacing the original material (including ribs, etc.) they wouldn't be air-worthy.

This is what I have come up with so far.

The blank space is where you would write your name after donating.
These will get hung up (and hopefully will cover the WHOLE WALL! LOL)

Gotta include H.A.R.T. in there somewhere . . . Maybe at the bottom?

I was worried that he would only post the jump and not the resolution!!

So was I . . . .

*grooooooaaaaaannnn*

Admit it. You had that in mind when you drew it (or are just jealous you didn't think of it first)

Oh no you didn't. *with a snap*

I'm going to bed and your all fired.

Sure, Mr. Snyder.

Harbour shot for the walls . . .

IMAGE: http://jonbarrettphoto.smugmug.com/photos/719610332_R236P-XL.jpg

Looked for a shot of the Caudron at NASM Udvar-Hazy (minimally-restored original WW I aircraft) for Bobert - I have bunches of detail shots, but none of the whole plane. Maybe after our next OTF meeting there.

Speaking of which, I just got all of my photos from the trip online an hour ago: LINKY (external link)

Nice... You got a lot of one I don't have. We are definitely going to have to make another trip out there...

Heather update: She is on her way home, having been relieved by her sister. Sandy is going to stay for two weeks so everything should be covered.

Which one was that? You said you hadn't been to the dinosaurs, and I found about a dozen or so of those, counting all the little ones that were hiding behind ocotillo.

Then, there was that little basket thingee with coconut-shaped thingees in it. I don't know what that was supposed to be, but since it was right next to one of the baby dinosaurs, I guess maybe it was a nest with eggs.

I don't have all the dinosaurs, the nun holding the cross and the dog with the stick. I also don't have the nest, or the second eagle. I noticed you missed the bighorn sheep and you were close to them when you shot the Indian with the feathers and the tortoises.

That's where the bighorn were? Sorry I missed 'em. I'd seen them on the website, but wasn't sure just where they were. I didn't follow all of your waypoints, but I should have at least gone to that one. I'll get it next time! There were a few other statues down that road into the estates that I passed as I drove through the area, but I didn't stop to get pictures of those ones. I'm saving those for next time, too.

BTW, the nun and the dog with the stick (and the cactus) are in that same area, too. You can see them from the Indian and tortoises.

Lonnie that latest gallery is fabulous.

THIS (external link) picture is interesting. The colour of the earth and the footprints are so like the ones that came back from the moon, the fish either proves that the pictures were not taken there, or prove that there was once life :-)

you guys feel like giving me some advice?

It's like this...I didn't really make any money this year (especially when you consider the cost of the gear switchover...then I would be in the red). The economy is bad. I have nothing booked for next year which could mean I'd end up with some last minute weddings at not full prices. Because of Hale's surgery, we have no savings either.

I'm thinking of not replacing my D300. Btw. us we have two cameras if something happened to one at an event. It's just hard to justify spending money that could really be used elsewhere (or as a buffer if things get worse) on another camera.

On the other hand, it's worrisome to only have one if I need two.

My current camera only has about 10K actuations on it so it will last a while.

I think you'll regret not having a 2nd camera when you do a shoot. Can you live without it? Of course. But life will be much easier with it.

That being said, if you can't afford it right now, then I'd say skip it for now and consider it later.

Thanks. We were struggling a bit with shadows last night, but I still like them.
