Sid, I've still got some of those little bitty rubber bands from having braces. That should be about the right size, should it not? ;)

Candi called a bunch of vets today trying to get an appointment to have poor little Max castrated. They all wanted between $140.00 and $175.00. "Oh we can't just castrate your poor little doggie, we have to give him an exam... which costs more, you have to take our special pain medicine home... which costs more. All kinds of ways to charge more money. Anyhow, just when it appeared that Max was going to escape the knife, Candi called the humane society and found a clinic in north Portland that will do the dirty for $70.00. Max is not looking forward to January 18th.

Reminds me of the story of the Scotsman who phoned the dentist and detailed his symptoms. The dentist informed him that he needed an extraction and that it would cost $1800. Somewhat shocked at the price he asked the dentist to give him a breakdown of the costs:

  • Valium Muscle relaxant $200
  • Anaesthetic $200
  • Full pre op instrument sterilisation $100
  • 4 hours recuperation in the recovery suite $100
  • Dental nurse $300
  • Post procedure pain meds $200
  • 14 day post op check up $200

  • Extraction of tooth $500

Oh no the Scotsman said I don't need any of that extra stuff, just do the extraction for $500. The dentist was a little shocked and said that that would be most irregular not to mention painful, but the man insisted that the extraction was all he required. Eventually the dentist agreed to do the basic procedure for $500.

When would you like to come in for the procedure the dentist asked, I am not sure said the man, I will have to check, it's not for me, it's for the wife.

I know people with horses that have White and pink skin have to put sun cream on the pink parts sometimes. They are also prone to uvitis in their eyes. White and gray horses also get skin cancers a lot of times but they are around longer than dogs.

I remember hearing a trivia tidbit when I was a kid, that said pigs were the only animals other than humans who could get a sunburn. I guess that was just one more lie I was told back then.

Happy Birthday, Jim!

It is a really long story but the game thread is here. We talked to much there, they sent us here.

You make it sound like we were exiled to this thread

oh I get it now! Kind of nice to be on a forum NOT about kids, that and who knew women could be so nasty to each other! LOL

You guys sure do chat it up though, hard to keep up! Oh well I can try :o

Well, Talk about kids isn't exactly excluded. I talk about my kid on here occasionally ;)

short5 wrote in post #9206714 (external link)
It's not bad. give up your day job and ignore your children and you should be able to keep up.

 Not to mention forgetting about getting any kind of sleep.
