read from the bottom up...

Mrs. Hatcher,

I can only apologize for her poor judgement. Yes, Eli was correct in telling you what happened. I have now spent a long period of time explaining to her that this decision is unjust and not acceptable. Eli, as well as the other students will be allowed to participate in the concert tomorrow. Once again, I can only apologize for an employee who made a poor decision. I can assure you this will NEVER happen again.

I hope to see you tomorrow.

Thank you.

Robert Kravitz

According to Eli he was not the only one, and there were "second chances" to try again after school. Regardless of whether the entire thing is even accurate, the perception is crystal clear.

I am shocked to hear that Mrs. Yook told Eli this. This is not the belief of my entire philosophy of this school. I will call Mrs. Yook at home and respond to you later this evening with some answers. This is completely unacceptable to me.

I will email again soon.

Subject: holiday concert

Mr. Kravitz,

As a parent of a 3rd grader I have heard all about the concert tomorrow, the songs to be played and the clothing to be worn. I have arranged for my mother, who cares for my ailing father at home on hospice care, to have an aide at the house so she can attend. Today, when I picked Eli up from the after-school program, for the first time in his entire school career, with all of its ups and downs, he told me he didn't want to go to school tomorrow. Why? Because Mrs. Yuk told him he couldn't play in the concert as he "isn't good enough". Perhaps (I truly hope) those words weren't used, but that is what he conveyed to me.

Now pardon me as I stifle my urge to become enraged, but even if he played a single note on the recorder, he should, on principal alone, be allowed to play with the other students in his grade. Even if he put the damn thing to his lips and played NOTHING at all, he should be allowed up on stage.

I will end this here, but you should know that I am quite upset.

Crissa Hatcher

Remind me to never make you angry. I had bad dreams all night about what it might be like to get a letter like that.

BTW, our best friends here in the desert are named Hatcher. Good old Iowa farm folk.

New subject:

Häppy Bïrthdäy, Jïm!!

I'm distressed to see what terrible things I've been doing to poor James Bovine, Chris, and the mouse. I guess I deserve to come to a bad end. Of course, there is poetic justice in blowing up my own house. Interesting parallels to real life there.

Happy Wednesday to everyone. We're going to see the Brian Setzer Orchestra's Christmas show tonight. I have no genuine interest in it, but we have heard enough good things to pique our curiosity.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

after attending Eli's concert this morning (without my mom as we canceled the aide yesterday) and speaking to some parents it is evident that the music teacher has in the past not included children *and* there is no way she could do that without letting the teachers know, as they are the ones who bring them into the assembly and get them situated on stage. My work here is not done.

Everyone I've talked to who's seen him says the same thing. Funny thing is, just about every show I've ever gone to, I end up enjoying. I even liked Yanni :o:o:o:o:o.

I fall asleep in the dentists chair, I don't doubt I will here either.
2 hours seems like a real long time for a massage though.

Maybe the masseur / masseuse only has one hand....so it will take twice as long.

NO!!! Just long enough to do it all right. You get a full body workup. Back, limbs, everything. Ahhh, I'm SO jealous.

I just get to go to the dentist today.

Yanni is a very common name in Greece (and other contries), it means John. I have cousins and a brother named John, Jim's comment makes me feel icky.
