We took the dogs for a walk in the nice cool 50f air after dinner. Now we are all ready for sleep.

I got this story to tell ya about lonely .
My father was a heavy drinker a absent father after my mom and him divorced he felt he wasnt worth being a dad , Although he was abset for most of my life he was so loved by me .Anyways I never gave up trying to have a relationship with him he pushed me away more times than not but like how love is , I persisted , After all this love I had belonged to him .
As years went by he missed my weddings my only childs birth and every holiday I missed him terribly .
Most of all I knew he was missing me .In his final years as I tried as a might to be done with him ,
a tug at my heart lead me to a search for truth , I asked him why he drank , as he stood in soiled clothes smelling like a dirty cat box his reply .."I am Lonely "
He had pushed all love away including the love I tried to give him so my reply was .
Are you any less lonely now? A tear fell down in check and in that moment of Grace ' ( I felt it was )
I offered forgiveness and in so doing was able to be present to him till his death where I was the only person with him , I hope it was a more peaceful transition than his miserable life .
And in the final process of this , I learned that true forgivness is when you are faced with your own humaness and ugly loveless behavior and choose to do better .I was fortunate in so doing this got to see my father receive the love I had for him which indeed is lifes best gift one can get and give .
Moral of the story "live your love "(its you)

*sniffs and wipes some eye leakage* You're very special Deb.

Yes, this is true. Although, there are some scientists that have been studying Kody as a possible gap filler.

That's one of the things that I love about this forum. So many different people willing to help one another through this morass we call life.

LOL, Kody as a genetic gap. That makes him....less than human but higher on the evolutionary scale than primates....interesting!

Just home from an emergency trip to the vet...Clarice started acting a bit odd this afternoon...just kept getting worse...poor little has an infected tooth....21 days of antibiotics and a trip to the doggie dentist....yikes...not looking forward to that bill.

Eeeks, I'm glad she'll be ok!

I penciled in a chapter of James Bovine, about 38 panels. Went shopping and left them all in an envelope in the grocery cart. Called later and someone turned them in. *whew*

GADS! Thank goodness no one tried to decifer the comic from the middle. ;)

I will attempt a catch up shortly.

What a long long day. Wow.

Shelter 1: take 3 dogs. Want more, 4 aren't available for release till Wednesday. Bummer.
Shelter 2: take 1 dog. We were going to take 3, but the other 2 we wanted got adopted over the weekend.
Shelter 3: 1 dog. Get irritated as freaking CRAP with shelter lady because they are 'so full that we are going to start putting dogs down'. But she would only let us choose from 5 dogs (out of her 20).
one was pregnant, one was severely disabled, one was aggressive, one was old and had a tooth abscess and one was a grouchy pit.
*sigh* we took the old one with the tooth abscess.

So, we only ended up with 5 new dogs, but with a promise of 4 more on Wednesday.

Chunk is at my house. She is an American Bulldog, solid black, about 8 months old.
She's been at the shelter in Enoch for about 3 months. And wouldn't you know it, 20 minutes after we left, someone went to the shelter to adopt her.

Murphy's law. They have an appointment to have her spayed, so they are coming to get her tomorrow morning. So we've only got her for tonight. She is a HOOT. I think her name is Roxy or Bunny or something like that, but from the moment we pulled her out, she's been Chunky.

I'll get pictures of her in the morning. There is no photographing a black dog at night.

SO after shelters, we took one dog to a foster home, took 2 to Apple Valley, picked up one from Apple Valley to bring home, took the old gal to another foster home, then brought Chunky home, gave her a bath, and I'm finally sitting down with a beer.

Off to catch up!

Good gravy Cat, I thought I had a busy/productive day. You made me look like a lazy sloth!

Great news - Dad was kicked out of the hospital tonight. He called a little bit ago and said they were on the way home.

Wonderful! I hope he decides to listen and not grumble too much.

And if you're on a laptop, you may need to add the Fn key to those you hold down.

Evening everyone, I am not long for this world. Hoping for a lovely, swift visit from the sand man.

Chief, how did you find that? And do you know how to put the accent over the E?

I found it by Googling ASCII Character Map, Then typed it as I described earlier.

You're using a Mac, though, right?

If so, just type alt-e, then e again.

[EDIT]

Of course on the Mac it's the Option key -- not the Alt key. (same place, though)

A couple of shelters about 50 miles from here have an urgent need to place some very large dogs. Several Great Pyrenees and a Great Pyrenees/Newfie mix....I put in for the GP/N....that has become the one with the most urgent need.
