A couple of shelters about 50 miles from here have an urgent need to place some very large dogs. Several Great Pyrenees and a Great Pyrenees/Newfie mix....I put in for the GP/N....that has become the one with the most urgent need.

Hmm... I've been looking at getting a pair of Canon Bins. I get a bit confused about the 10x30 numbers (I know that one is zoom and the other is area of view, but I don't know what they'd appear like). I don't really want to go into a shop and experiment as I know I'll probably end up paying too much.
The first number is the zoom. 30mm objective lens is quite good for most parts of the day, 42mm will extend your viewing by at least 15 minutes either side of the day, which is important to many bird watchers, as the birds are often very active then.
