Well what do you think? I was just testing out my new lens and was quite happy with this one. Any C&C is welcome. ;)

This is a gorgeous shot, looks very sharp and the focus is spot on! I love the choice of background color too (in a studio, perhaps?). Beautiful cat, by the way. Cheers.

EDIT: Also, what lens were you using?

Not in a studio, just a bedroom with wood floors. I did adjust the background a little, but its pretty close to the original. Flash bounced off the ceiling (you can see the reflection in her eyes) I used a 80-200 2.8 AF-D (at about 135mmm IIRC) with my D90, I shoot Nikon if you haven't already figure it out.

Thanks for all of the nice comments.

Very nice, thanks for the information. I have to get and experiment with an external flash one of these days..

This was still on camera if that's what you were thinking. Just pointed straight up at the ceiling.

If you don't have one already I would get a good flash. It gives you so many more options when you are inside and more of a natural look when you bounce it. ;)

Oh, I understood that. I meant "external" as anything other than my on-camera flash (which is all I have at the moment).

Thanks for the advice! Now that I have my Sigma 18-50, I think my next purchase will be an external flash. That's what I plan on doing, bouncing it off the ceiling. I mostly take pictures of my cat indoors, so it should help a lot (especially at night when the lighting isn't enough).

Yea I realized that about halfway through typing my post. For indoor shots its great. It gives much nicer backgrounds as well.

I'd love to try out off camera flash though. ;)

If they come out anything like the picture you posted, I'd be more than happy. :D
