Nice series Kody; I love what these long exposures do to the water and sky! I am still hoping to get a nice cloudy and very windy day to get that crazy blurred sky!

Thanks, I wish there would have been more interest in the sky the day I was at the coast. Clear blue skies in October, who would think? hah

Andrew, love the softness (color) of this image if that's the right way to describe it... there's almost a lavender color to the image. I like it a lot.

Great use of B&W and I like the sky a lot, a real sense of motion in this one.

Thanks everyone!

First ever shot with a 10 stop filter. I also used a 3 stop for 13 stops total. This was taken at 11 am. Looks like I will have a lot of fun with this filter. What I like is that at 10mm with 2 filters there is virtually no vignetting. I shoot a lot of real estate photography where everything needs to be straight up and down and level. This shot was fun. I went all crazy with the angle and UWA distortion because I could. ;D

Exposure 241s
Aperture f/16.0
Focal Length 10 mm
ISO Speed 100
Filters: 10 stop & 3 stop ND

This was shot with my old 9 stop Hoya. I have since switched to the 10 stop B+W.

Shawn, love the shot. Normally I would think there was too much foreground but with the ice and the cracks and such I think it leads nicely. Awesome shot.

What do you find the differences between the 2 filters are?

The one stop difference is what made me sell the 9 stop and pick up a 10 stop. Being able to double my exposure time was more important to me, especially during the day.

AH.. I see. 1min vs 2min IS a big difference. How about color cast? Have you noticed any differences?

I don't remember what the color cast was like on the 9 stop Hoya. I know my 10 stop B+W has a magenta cast, but nothing that cannot be easily corrected.

From what I have read the 9 stop hoya, 10 stop B+W and Lee Big Stopper all have some sort of cast whether it is warm or cool.
In the end I choose not to worry about it because I know it is fixable.

Thanks Shawn. The reason I ask, I am thinking that I may want to get another 10 or the Hoya 9 stop in the future to use with my B+W 10 stop.

B&W made a 20 stop, although I'm not sure it is still produced.
John.
