I apologize for not reading through the entire post to see if the subject has come up but does anyone ever stack two polarizer filters (and turn them as needed) to accomplish what a 10 stop ND does? I've used welding glass and tried a few other things but I was curious what others experience was with this.

You'll vignette like crazy! Much easier just to get a 9-10 stop or some welding glass and a couple rubber bands! lol.

There are a number of such adjustable filters available. They are not as thick as two stacked CPL, but they are still significantly thicker than a fixed-intensity ND so they do not work well with UWA lenses.

And some of the cheaper adjustable filters have certain angles where they produce uggly moire or other unwanted effects from the interaction between the two polarizing filters.

Finally had a good outing yesterday. Not as successful as I'd hoped since it was mid-day, but I will be going back here for the sunrise/sunset sequence.

This is a place called Fins (pronounced fæns) in Oman, about 2 hours drive away from the city.

Oak Creek Narrows, Sedona, AZ. Shot about 6am or so...heavy cloud cover gave a water lily appearance in the reflection. Taken with Singh-Ray Vari-N-Duo at max density and polarization (about 9-10 stops):

I have it. It's an excellent filter.

Just got it today... I'm loving it... I can't wait for the waves to get crazier...

A couple of test shots a few hours after picking it up...

As far as I'm concerned my ND110 saved me the other day at Niagara Falls... it was cloudy, dreary and every other word for gross... my photos without it just looked depressing, so instead I got this

Thanks! Very Nice... How was the hotel?

we stayed there for our honeymoon and the hotel and location was great! most people probably would have wanted to stay in a more remote place for a honeymoon, but my husband and i love exploring (esp. since we both love photography) and eating all the great food! cant wait to go back!!
