Glad you found the link!
So, get sure to get the new one, and not the original version.

Sorry double post:

Here (external link) you go. ;)

That camparison is between the Big Stopper and the old version of the Hitech 10 stopper, which doesn't have a foam gasket and produce a magenta cast.

The newer version of the Hitech 10 stopper has a gasket seal and produce a blueish cast like the Big Stopper. The review can be found here. http://blog.robertstrachan.com …4/hitech-pro-stop-review/ (external link)

I'd modified my P-size Prostop filter to be used with my Cokin Z holder to save a few bucks. The P-size Prostop is $94 compared to $160 for the 4X4 version. https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1129772

I ordered the hitech a week ago. I do like the fact that it is resin and much less prone to breakage. I'm pretty careful with my gear although one of my lee grads jumped out of my hand onto a rock. That most definitely would have stopped the big stopper!

Is this what the majority of everyone using the B&W filter are using? I was thinking since it was in stock that I could get it and then either keep it if I like it or sell it when the Lee Big Stopper comes in. Have no clue how long that will be or where I am on the wait list. Is there really that big a difference between the two? The reason I would probably sell is because I like the idea of using the Big Stopper with my lee holder and GND filters.

One of my favorite places to shoot. This is a recent frosty day at the Sinks in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. I just picked up the older version of the Hitech 3.0, and am really disappointed in the color cast, but it does great after converting to black and white.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!! I might have to unsubscribe from this thread.....I can't find a Lee Big Stopper anywhere and I don't want to spend over a hundred on a B&W, not sure about Hitech.
I wish I would have know a few years back that I would want a Lee lol!!
I am going to Mexico in a week on vacation so I guess I will have to make due with my Lee filters that I have with my Lee CPL wah!!

Hey QueenChatty

Dont give up hope. One tip is to check B&H everyday in the afternoon(i use the B&H mobile app). The notification thing they have does not work if the item is quickly snagged, it seems to take a day or so before it notifies u(assuming that the item is still around). I was able to snag one a couple weeks ago. By the time i wanted to let u guys know in the evening, it was all gone. I was on the 2Filter wait list, but it seems its a longer wait that way.

Watch this thread, i will give u guys an update if i see any stock.

Good luck :).

Kenneth

I bought mine from conns cameras in Ireland, Bob the owner had really good communication and was quick to ship it out to me here in Aus. I think they're all out of stock now but i bought mine about 3 weeks ago; guess i was just lucky as i was told 8 months wait...

I've enjoyed going through parts of the thread for some time now and would like to purchase a ND1000 or there abouts.

Is anyone able to summarize the above information and let us know which are some of the best to purchase with the least, or no colour cast?

Thanks!
