my first serious attempt at a long exposure. I think I've nailed the 'long' part, now I just need to figure out the 'exposure' part lol.

^ Not a bad first attempt! You could have left it open about 1/3 to 1/2 a stop longer to get more light and a brighter exposure, but these sorts of things are all about playing with it until you get the desired result.

Out getting more experience with my B+W 110, this actually ended up being a half dozen 15sec (or was it 20sec?) shots stacked in Gimp. Nothing like long exposure shots to show you where the dust is on your sensor...

Always when i travel i take different glasses with me, from ultra wide to tele long, so i can cover many applications in photography when possible, and also having different composition or perspective using different lenses.

Good luck!

Thanks TRhoads! The 70-200 seemed just right! I have a shot I took with my 16-35. I'll try to get that image up tonight. The city looks small with the wide angle but I was able to get the Stature of Liberty in the frame. Here's we we setup...

I would love to cover every focal length. ... but can't afford to and can't carry it all! I have from 10-85 covered over 6 lenses. ... but might consider renting a 70-200 for the trip.
