BTW we were at the most southern point of the park. You can setup much closer and may not need a 70-200.

I would love to cover every focal length. ... but can't afford to and can't carry it all! I have from 10-85 covered over 6 lenses. ... but might consider renting a 70-200 for the trip.

We drove so I don't know what the area around the park is like at night. The park itself was empty where we were. The last time I was there at night and further north, Empty Sky Memorial, was for the Tribute In Light. The place was packed! On a regular night I would guess it won't be so crowded.

Maybe this will give you an idea how far we were from the city...

Here's the photo where I used the 16-35 @ 27mm. This was taken at the same exact spot as the other photo. I just changed lenses. If you setup further north like around the Empty Sky Memorial you will be fine without the 70-200.

2 min exposure with Lee Filters Big Stopper and polarizer.

I have planned for it to be chilly...thats good for LE...less heat for the sensor!

I am curious if anyone has used the Big Stopper with something like the 85II?

I only ever use it on the 24II, but am contemplating getting a UWA connection for the 85II....
