I use the Big Stopper on the TS-E 17 and even a tiny amount of light causes a horrible reflection on the inside of the filter from the lens's bulbous front element, regardless of the sun's position. Although I am in Florida, and our sun is about 10x more intense than anywhere else this time of year, haha.

The one good thing about it being so obvious is that if I do happen to forget to shut the viewfinder, the first shot will remind me almost instantly, haha.

I read that about the 17 TSE...one more reason its not on my list...but the 24mm is!

Tomorrow i hope i can bring the filters i ordered for my TS17 and larger filter holder, one of the filters is a 10-stop ND, so i hope it will work fine but i might not use/test any filter until i travel, it is very hot in my country to try shooting long exposures.

I have used it on my 10-22, 24-70 and17-40L. I have messed around with it a little on my 85 1.8 too but only a couple of times.

Eh, frankly the issue I described shouldn't even be a consideration when it comes to a purchasing decision on the lens. When shooting any longer than a few seconds during the day, one should be covering the viewfinder regardless of the lens.

Although it's off topic for this thread, I actually sold my TS-E24II and kept the 17. Many of the things you can do with the 24 can also be done with the 17; however, many of the things you can do with the 17 can't even be considered with the 24 – just something to keep in mind. That said, you won't be disappointed with either choice. I've had the opportunity to play with many fun toys in the past, but my copy of the TS-E 24II was hands down the sharpest lens I've ever used.

How do you get your plants to hold that still for such a long time? :D Mine start moving after 5 secs or so... :/

Constructive criticism and editing always welcome.

just for the sake of discussion...since that to me is a big part of these threads, the thought process behind an image not just sharing photos....to me the bigger question is why go for that duration of exposure, when nothing really jumps out at me as benefiting from it...the water would look that way most likely after 30 seconds...@ 130 you normally get movement in trees/plants that can be distracting...

I have done that, and that is a fair reason to do really long...but I would think more like 5+ minutes for that...people stand still more than we realize...
