Thanks for Viewing!

Really nice images, particularly the skyline.

I am going to remember that for Orlando...I start going down there monthly this month...for the next 18 months...I love a good skyline and am going to walk that lake to see what there is...I think I had seen something from here before, but never with that tree.

Yeah there are a few cypress trees along the shore of the lake, but it can be hard to get a good composition. I wish I could have composed the tree more to the right to avoid blocking that building, but I couldn't seem to find the right angle. It is a really nice park, just watch out for the swans :).

Hard to make the blades show up. Shot with Canon 5D3 and Lee big stopper, forgot the SS. Opinions? There's a slight color cast of the second one that I can't get rid of, it was shot stacking the big and little stopper.

Nice shots!

That's a tough one. I think your only option would be to wait for later in the day. The sky would darken creating a contrast, but then again it would cause a longer shutter speed so you would need to bump your ISO slightly to compensate?

Thanks. Yeah that was the only thing i could think of, also thinking about going back at night and light painting them.

you mention a color cast in the second one, is it that magenta bloom in the upper left? That looks more like light leak than color cast.

My viewfinder wasn't covered up, would that more then likely be what caused that?

Absolutely. The longer the exposure the more pronounced it will be too.

Ive read about covering it up and saw people do it but have never done it myself. Will have to keep this little covers handy from now on. I guessing this is a major light leak? This is the unprocessed RAW file, just converted to Jpeg. Was stacking the Lee little and big stoppers.

Yep definate light leak. It can also occur through the lens, lens mount, in behind the filter, filter adaptor etc. I used to get a similar effect every time I used the big stopper on my 5D2. You are best to cover everything if you can for long exposures. Something like a lens cloth over the viewfinder, camera and lens would help

Interesting information - thanks.

Actually I've never been able to work out how to fit the cover over the view finder - doesn't seem to attach well. Both 600D and now 70D. I'm usually reasonably able to work these things out :-)
