Actually I've never been able to work out how to fit the cover over the view finder - doesn't seem to attach well. Both 600D and now 70D. I'm usually reasonably able to work these things out

you have to take the eye cup off your camera. The cover that's on the strap then slides on. Its a bit of a faff so I just cover the camera instead

Wow never seen a light leak this bad!

I must say, i remember the canon 16-35Lii was very prone to such things back when i had it. I had a lot of optical artifacts when shooting long exposures with that lens or when shooting into the sun. Im happy i switched to sony, as the sony 16-35 is fantastic while canon, 2 years after my switch, still hasnt come up with a high quality wide angle lens other than the tiltshifts...

Yes I've tried to do that and failed - covering the lot makes sense.

Ummmm new lenses - let me think. Probably the samyang fisheye, but latest is helios mk 44/2 50 which as you would likely know is a Russian vintage lens mass produced around the eighties. My copy has the Olympic insignia on it. Difficult to use after AF but heaps of fun, and love the bokeh!

At some stage would like to get a slightly longer one.

Yeah that's another pitfall of the system. I would definately loose the cup!

I recently bought Samyang 14mm f/2.8, which is manual AF only and I struggle with focusing as well, but i have to say Samyang lenses truly shocked me how sharp and optically flawless they are for such low price.

Helios 44/2 is very popular lens here in Europe, bokeh is very unique and many people are in love with that lens

Thanks for the info everybody. That's funny that you say that davidfarina, it's only visible when I stack my Lee big and little stoppers and on my 16-35 2.8. Lol.

but think about it...you are stacking two dark ND filters...that means your exposure is going to be pretty long...that just means more chances for light to get in. I never saw much light leak under 1 minute, once I started shooting longer than that I started to see it more, and became much more aware of it. I always thought that if the sun wasn't behind you glaring into the viewfinder you were ok...and that just isn't the case.

Right now I just use a "Storm Jacket" camera cover...I need to get back to my R&D on an LE shooters camera cover system that makes it easy to work...just been too busy with work.
