Thanks Travis, yes I took a very long hiatus. I'm trying to work the rust out shooting some things around here. The water is indeed plenty high up here. In fact I wish it would go down some...it's hard to shoot this lake at full pool.

sure I'd be happy to do that. early to mid-May works good for that trail.. the green gets going good. Also, it's one of those that we would REALLY want to be hiking in while it is still dark. The falls I like to call Maidenhair Falls are best shot very early or you can get direct light... at least on a clear sunny day.

here is one taken earlier today... Since we had snow I thought I would go out and shoot fairly close to the last one I posted. This one was at f14 and 140sec exp with my B+W 10 stop...love that filter

Here are a couple more I shot yesterday. I'm looking forward to getting out in the woods with this 15mm, it's definitely a new perspective. Yesterday was cloudy but clear, and windy. Got some pretty good cloud movement.

I have always wondered where you could shoot that bridge from...how did you get to that spot? I know where you were...just not sure how you got there....

LOL, it can be tricky. Right now the water level is up so you can only shoot it from this side. There is a pull off at the west end of the bridge, and a couple of trails that go along the shore. It's pretty trashy because a lot of people fish there. When the water is down and you can get on the bank there are some really good (and more dramatic) comps on the north side of the bridge. The biggest problem shooting from the south like this one is avoiding hanging limbs in the frame. In this shot I had to edit some out along the top of the frame and on the right edge.

I went out to shoot sunset tonight too...but no clouds...so LE was the way to go anyway being on the lake and all...it was a great way to end the weekend, and play with the new A7RII...I am officially in love with this camera...best piece of equipment I have ever used.

One in black and white...2 minutes @ ISO 50, using the Big Stopper and 3 Stop GND.

And last shot of the evening in color. 2 minutes @ ISO 50, using the Little Stopper all by itself.
