I finally got around to trying out my new Big Stopper and it is so much easier to handle than screw in filters and trying to stack the Lee Filter holder to that.

These were taken on a rather overcast day here in Scotland. I think the rest of the country experience sunshine that day.
I could have used the 6 stop screw in filter but I wanted to have a play with my new toy.

Nice set! I like the second shot and its nice composition.

Here is a shot I took last weekend at Lake Monroe in Sanford, FL. I used a Hitech Firecrest 10 stop and a 3 stop GND. I did have some light leak issues. Only in the bottom right of the image though so I am not sure. The viewfinder was covered, but I think the issue might be from the UV filter underneath. It was easily removed in post.

Today, I finally started using my 10 stop Hoya filter, but screwing and unscrewing it for every single composition started driving me crazy. On the other hand, almost all afternoon was drizzling, so having screwed filter I could use lens hood and keep shooting.

Just a note, if you're in "ok" light, you can often use Live View and see enough to compose without taking off the filter. Won't work in very low light of course, but in bright light, it can see through the 10 stop.

Very best,

I think someone mentioned this a while back, but there are quick releases for screw in filters such as the Xume magnetic holders here:

Those look really interesting.

I wonder how bad the vignetting is however on wider lenses...

Just processed it last night 260 seconds f22 iso 50.
It a capture of the old pilot jetty that they used as a base for the River Tyne pilot and Tug's and as you can see they moved a few years previous to this picture
may pop down as it be a lot worse now
