Canon 60D, Tamron 10-24mm, Cokin P Filter (10 Stop Nuances ND1024)

First attempt at using a 10 stop. The light was going fast, and I foolishly left my tripod mount at home so had to pitch up where I could balance my camera on a wall.

6 min exposure, in what was basically darkness. Don't like the amount of noise, but think I managed to recover a fair amount from the original raw.

I have a couple of screw in Haida filters with step up rings to use on other lenses. I'd like to get some more filters to be able to double up for longer exposure. I was thinking of the ones that fit into a holder ..... appreciate any advice and people's experiences.

Thanks

I use Lee slot in filters but I believe Haida slot in are the most colour neutral. I've also used hitech firecrest thatvare decent. Avoid kokin.

Slot in filters give you the most versatility as you can use them with all your lenses. You just need a holder and a filter ring for each diameter lens. Get the holder and rings from "the filter dude" online. MUCH cheaper than lee and completely compatible with all 100mm filters. They are in the US and do free delivery (delivery is even free to me in the U.K.)

PS I'm not affiliated

I use a CPL, 3 stop soft GND, 6 stop ND and 10 stop ND. I genuinely don't think you need any more than that but others are available 3 stop etc

Thanks so much for that info. Hopefully they post to NZ as well .... some places don't. I do have a very cheap holder and set of cheap slot in filters, but they give a magenta colour cst. For the price and to experiment I can live with that, but after using the Haida I have become a little more fussy :-)
