What is the longest exposures you all have achieved using these 10-stops? 20 minutes? 30 minutes? More? I know we're all long exposure junkies, so there's bound to be a few out there.

I briefly considered using it last night after dark (traffic trails in the city), but balked after realizing I would be there for an hour just to make one shot. In hindsight, such a shot might be worth doing....just not on such a cold and windy night.

I don't think there's any real reason to use one of these at night. You'd just be punishing yourself by waiting forever to get a shot that you could easily get without the filter.

Of course there are. Plenty of people use ND's at night, it's just that these 10-stops are not as common. More traffic and movement than a few minutes can give, or to use a large aperture for thin DOF, for instance.

In any case, using them at night wasn't the question. The question was what are the longest exposures that members have used with them. Day or night.

The image noise would be crazy I am sure. Any time I push the 5 min envelope I get hellatious noise out of my 40D ISO 100

This thread has ruined me...lol. I finally broke down to spend the $$$ on a few Lee filters and they are all on back order from 2 Filter, including the Big Stopper. Uggggg!

I like long exposures too but, if you don't have a good NR workflow, the image can be a wash. :)

For everything they are saying 2-4 weeks, but I am suspicious that it could be longer...ugg.

Finally clean the dust of my 10 stopper. Taken in Reykjvik today.
QUOTED IMAGE

Just browsed through the last 10-15 pages or so, tons of great shots but this one seems to draw me in for some reason. The light and dark creates a powerful image- Love it

Are these images SOOC for you guys, or do you have some heavy post-processing involved? The muted colors are still so vivid on some of them, and it makes me wonder if I can get similar effects with the 10-stop or need to do a ton of post work to get them to pop like a lot of these.
