I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT TRIPOD RINGS

Sure they all fit each other? I tried the ring that came with my 300 f4 on the 200 2.8 prime and it was a lot bigger than the lens area right around area the camera mount.

in his post above, Lester says the newer IS model uses a larger ring than the older non-IS model.

The 300 f/4 IS uses the same ring as the 70-200 2.8 IS and the 100-400.
