Help me get good product shots!!!

Hello:

I need to take good product shots of sneakers I am producing.
I have a Canon S1 IS camera. I believe I should be able to get good shots with it, here are some examples of what I am going for.

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

Can someone help me with the lighting setup I can use without spending an arm and a leg, and maybe some settings for my camera that will help. I have tried a thousand times to get good lookin photos, but I can't do it. HELP!!

Look in the "Sticky". I'd guess that they used soft sources like an umbrella(s) with another light(s) on the background.
